Guest Blogging: Gimmick or Good? – He Said She Said Comics Presents

ButtafuococoverWell, I’ve finally gone over the deep end. Tired of writing about superheroes and critically acclaimed comic book series like Sandman, I decided to tackle trash journalism disguised as a comic book in my latest installment of Comic Should Be Good’s Gimmick or Good? feature. I “analyze” He Said She Said Comics Presents the Amy Fisher/Joey Buttafuoco story, which was published in 1993 by the short-lived indie press First Amendment. The gimmick here is the comic is a “flip book” where one side presents Fisher’s story and the other Buttafuoco’s. My verdict probably isn’t in doubt, but where else can you get a salacious “pin up” of a barely legal teenager in comic book form?
