Despite being the featured character in what many consider to be one of the worst movies ever made, Howard the Duck has played an important part in comic book history over the years. The social and political satire found in his 1970s series by Steve Gerber was incredibly unique for its time. Beyond that, the character has received presidential votes and became a symbol for creator rights.
