Gimmick or Good? Detective Comics #675

Detective675_coverWith DC recently celebrating the 75th anniversary of the first appearance of Batman (in Detective Comics #27), I thought I’d look at the very first gimmick-enhanced edition of the Detective series as part of my Gimmick or Good series at Comics Should Be Good. 1994’s Detective #675 features a chromium embossed cover. From a storyline perspective, it is the final part of the “Knightquest: The Crusade” arc. In this comic, we see more sociopathic behavior from Azrael, who was filling in for Batman (who was put on the shelf by Bane during the “Knightfall” arc). Did I view the AzBat-era gimmick or good?
